Deleting a Lesson That Has Used a Credit
A lesson that has consumed a lesson pack credit cannot be deleted directly. You need to release the credit first by resetting attendance, then the lesson can be deleted normally. When a lesson pack credit is consumed, it
Why This Restriction Exists
When a lesson pack credit is consumed, it creates a direct link between a credit record and an attendance event. If the lesson were deleted while that link existed, the credit would be left in an inconsistent state — consumed, but with no lesson to justify the consumption.
Rather than silently resolving this in the background (which could result in incorrect billing), the system blocks the deletion and tells you exactly what needs to happen first.
What You'll See When Trying to Delete
When you select one or more lessons for deletion and one of them has consumed a credit, the deletion confirmation shows you two separate groups:
- Lessons that will be deleted (eligible lessons)
- Lessons that will not be deleted, with the reason explained: "To keep your lesson-pack credits accurate, lessons that have already used a credit can't be deleted. Instead, reset attendance first to release the credit, then delete the lesson."
The eligible lessons proceed with deletion. The blocked lessons are excluded automatically — you don't need to deselect them manually.
The Required Flow
To delete a lesson that has consumed a credit:
Step 1 — Reset attendance for that lesson. Change the attendance status to one that doesn't count toward the lesson pack (for example, marking it as cancelled or resetting it entirely). This releases the credit — the link between the credit and the lesson is cleared, and the credit returns to available.
Step 2 — Delete the lesson. Once the credit has been released, the lesson is no longer blocked and can be deleted through the normal delete flow.
Avoiding the Situation
If you regularly need to delete lessons that have had attendance marked, it may be worth reviewing your attendance workflow. Ideally, attendance is marked after the lesson has occurred and the billing status is settled. If you frequently mark attendance and then need to reverse it (and delete the lesson), that's a signal the workflow may benefit from adjustment.
