The Public Page
Every Practiceathon has a public facing campaign page and individual student pages. These are hosted on the Octavia public site and are accessible to anyone with the link — no Octavia account or login required. You contr
The Two Public Surfaces
The School Campaign Page
The school campaign page is the main public page for the whole Practiceathon. It shows:
- The campaign name and description
- The campaign banner image (if one has been uploaded)
- The campaign date range
- Overall school-wide practice progress
- A fundraising goal and progress bar (if fundraising is enabled and a goal is set)
- A leaderboard of all participating students ranked by their approved practice minutes (if the leaderboard is enabled)
Each student on the leaderboard links through to their individual student page.
Individual Student Pages
Every enrolled student has their own public page as part of the campaign. The student page shows:
- The student's name and profile image (if one has been set)
- The campaign name and banner
- The student's personal practice progress — minutes logged and progress toward their goal
- A message from the student (if they've written one via the Hub)
- If fundraising is enabled: a list of supporters who have donated or pledged, and buttons for new supporters to donate or pledge
These pages are designed to be shared directly. A parent can paste their child's page link in a family group chat or email it to grandparents so they can follow along and donate — no account needed.
The Public Page URL
The campaign page URL is built from two parts: your school's slug and the Practiceathon's slug. For example:
octavia.studio/your-school/practiceathon/spring-challenge-2025
You set the Practiceathon slug when creating the campaign, and you can find the full URL in the Practiceathon detail view. Use the Copy link button to copy it to your clipboard ready to share.
Publishing the Campaign
The public page is not visible to anyone until you publish it. The Publish public page toggle in the Practiceathon settings controls this. When it's off, the URL simply shows a not-found page.
Publish the campaign when:
- You've reviewed and are happy with the campaign name, description, and dates
- Students are enrolled
- The banner image is in place
- Fundraising settings (if applicable) are confirmed and Stripe is ready
You can unpublish the campaign at any time from the same toggle — for example, if you need to make changes before the campaign officially starts.
The Campaign Banner
The banner image appears at the top of both the school campaign page and all individual student pages. A well-chosen banner makes the public page feel welcoming and professional.
Upload the banner from the Practiceathon settings (in the Public page section). Supported image formats are PNG, JPEG, and WebP. You can replace the banner at any time — the update takes effect immediately on all public pages.
Student Profile Images
Students can upload a profile image to their Practiceathon page via the Hub. This image appears on their individual public page alongside their name and progress. Multiple images can be uploaded and the student selects which one to use for the campaign.
Profile images are optional — students without an image simply display without a photo.
Sharing the Campaign
Once published, you can share:
- The school campaign page link — share this broadly with the whole school community, in newsletters, on social media, or in a news item sent via Octavia
- Individual student page links — parents can find their child's page link from the Hub and share it directly with their own network
