Resource Library Overview
My Library is the place to keep the files, recordings, and YouTube videos you use in lessons. You can organise them, find them later, and add the same resource to more than one lesson note without uploading another copy.
Opening My Library
Choose My Library from the main sidebar. The page opens on Browse, where you can see your folders and the resources at the current level.
If My Library is not included with your school, the page explains that it is a premium feature. Resources already in lesson notes continue to work normally for the people who can see those notes.
Finding Your Resources
Use the sidebar to switch between these views:
- Browse shows your folders and the resources inside the folder you have opened.
- Recent shows your latest uploads.
- Favourites shows files and folders you have starred.
- Student recordings shows recordings submitted by students or parents in their lesson notes.
- Recently deleted holds deleted resources while they can still be restored.
Use the search box at the top of the page to search your whole library. The smaller search box above the list searches only the folder or view you are currently looking at.
You can also filter by resource type, tag, or whether a resource has a saved Practice setup. When you apply a filter while browsing folders, Octavia searches across your whole library until you clear the filters.
Choose a resource name to open Quick view. Depending on the type of resource, you can preview it in Octavia, download it, or open it in your browser. Expand In lesson notes to see the notes where a resource is being used and open one directly.
Files used for a student — Choose a student from the Student filter to see resources used in that student's lesson notes. Arrange the results by Files or Lesson notes, then open a relevant note when needed.
Organising Resources
Use Add to create a New folder. When you are browsing a folder, the new folder is created there; otherwise it is created at the top of Browse.
You can rename folders, star folders and resources, and move items by dragging them or by selecting them and choosing Move to…. Select more than one item to move them together.
Folders help you organise resources, but do not change what a resource is or who can use it. If you delete a folder, any folders inside it are also deleted, but its files are returned to the top level of Browse rather than being deleted.
Storage
The storage indicator in My Library shows how much of your resource storage you are using. It includes files you have saved in lesson notes, items in My Library, and items in Recently deleted until they are permanently removed.
