Group Lesson Packs
Lesson packs work for group lessons too, but each member of the group has their own pack. There is no shared group pack — each student buys their own prepaid credits, which can only be used for lessons where that student
How Group Lesson Packs Differ
For individual lessons, a pack is straightforward: one student, one enrolment, one pack. Group lesson packs follow the same structure, but because multiple students attend the same lessons together, a few things are worth understanding clearly.
Each member has their own pack. A group lesson pack belongs to one student — the one who purchased it. If you have a group of four students, each family buys their own pack and holds their own credits. There's no shared pool. One student's credits cannot cover another student's lesson.
The pack is scoped to the group. Just as an individual pack is tied to a specific individual enrolment, a group pack is tied to a specific group. A credit from a group piano ensemble pack can only be consumed against that ensemble's lessons — not against another group, and not against the same student's individual lessons.
The billing contract belongs to the group. The pricing and billing model for group lessons is set at the group level — all members share the same rate and lesson type. Each member's pack invoice will reflect the group's lesson type and rate.
Creating a Group Lesson Pack Invoice
Group lesson pack invoices are generated from the same Billing area as individual lesson pack invoices. Navigate to the Billing area and start a new invoice generation run. Select Lesson pack as the billing type, then set your scope to groups (or both individual and group if you want to generate across enrolment types in the same run). The system will only surface groups whose enrolment contract is set to lesson pack billing.
From there the generation process works the same way as for individual packs: set any pack size override if needed, select the groups you want to generate for, and click generate. The system builds the draft invoices automatically, with the lesson type determined by the group's enrolment. Review the drafts, make any adjustments, then send. How Credits Are Consumed in a Group
When you mark attendance for a group lesson, the system processes each member's attendance independently. Whether a credit is consumed for a particular student depends on their individual attendance outcome and whether that outcome is billable under your attendance settings — not simply on whether the lesson took place.
This is the recommended way to offer flexibility in group attendance. Group lessons do not create makeup credits for individual students who miss within the group. Instead, each student's attendance status determines whether their own lesson pack credit is used.
A credit is only consumed when the attendance status is billable. If a student's absence is recorded with a non-billable status, no credit is consumed and their pack balance is unchanged.
Here's a worked example with three students — Johnny, Sarah, and Rebecca — who are all in the same group, each with their own lesson pack.

Johnny attends the lesson and is marked present — a billable outcome. A credit is consumed. He has 4 remaining.
Sarah doesn't attend, but she gave her teacher advance notice. Under this studio's attendance settings, an absence with notice is non-billable. When her absence is marked, no credit is consumed. She still has 5 remaining.
Rebecca also doesn't attend, but gave no notice. Under this studio's attendance settings, an absence without notice is billable. When her attendance is marked, a credit is consumed. She now has 2 remaining.
All three students are in the same lesson. Their credit outcomes are entirely independent of each other, determined by their individual attendance status and your studio's billing rules for that status.
If you do not want this flexibility, you can simply use billable attendance statuses consistently so that every scheduled group lesson still consumes a credit for each student, whether they attended or not.
Retroactive Application for Group Packs
Retroactive credit application works the same way for group packs as for individual packs. When a group member's pack invoice is paid, the system checks for attended group lessons within the coverage window where that specific student was a participant and whose attendance hasn't been covered. Viewing Group Pack Usage
