Viewing Other Teachers' Records

Admins in multi teacher studios get a Viewing selector on the main list and calendar pages. It switches the page between your own records, one teacher's records, or the whole school — using the same pages everyone else u

Where the Selector Appears

The Viewing selector appears for admins on:

  • News
  • Performances
  • Practiceathons
  • Calendar
  • Lessons
  • Scheduler (Timetable Planning)

Non-admin teachers never see it, and it does not appear in single-teacher studios.

The selected scope is part of the page's web address, so it survives a refresh and you can share a link to a colleague's view with another admin.

The Three Views

  • My items — your own records. On Performances and Practiceathons this also includes school-wide records other teachers have shared, so the default view is "everything relevant to me", not strictly "created by me".
  • All teachers — every teacher's records across the school, including their private (non-school-wide) items. Each row shows the owning teacher's name so the list stays readable.
  • A specific teacher — that teacher's full record set, again including their private items.

On News, Performances, and Practiceathons, searching also matches the owning teacher's name.

Viewing Is Not Acting-As

The selector changes what you are looking at, never who you are. If you create something while viewing another teacher's records — a news item, a performance, an event — it is created by you and recorded against your name. There is no way to act as another teacher.

The Calendar in All-Teachers Mode

When you switch the Calendar to All teachers, it changes how events are presented:

  • events are colour-coded by teacher rather than by event type
  • a Teacher key appears above the calendar showing each teacher's colour
  • you can show or hide individual teachers from the key, or use Select all / Clear all
  • search results respect whichever teachers you have visible

A couple of actions are deliberately unavailable while you are viewing another teacher's calendar or All teachers:

  • Subscribe to this calendar only appears on your own calendar view
  • creating quick "other" calendar events is only possible on your own calendar view

This prevents accidentally subscribing to — or dropping personal events into — a calendar you were only inspecting.

Lessons: One Teacher at a Time

The Lessons page supports My items and a specific teacher, but not All teachers. Lessons are managed one teacher-context at a time; when you select a teacher, the page title changes to show whose lessons you are working with, and the list includes lessons that teacher owns plus lessons they are covering as a substitute.
